Last Tuesday and Wednesday (25th and 26th June) I was in dance heaven!
I was working with The London Ballet Company to photograph them during the warm-up, rehearsals and performances of their current show "Postcard from London." The show is about two people arriving in London and all the sights and sounds they encounter along the way. There is a comedy element to go with the amazing dancing, it's very contemporary and highly entertaining.
The London Ballet Company is made up dancers from all over the world who were very friendly and relaxed as I wandered around shooting them from various angles. They created the most amazing shapes as they flew across the stage and their movements were so precise that I could time my shots to capture some of them in mid-air. It was a real pleasure just to watch them, let alone photograph them.
Postcard from London is on at Bridewell Theatre until Friday 5th July (Tuesday - Friday only). The show is 50 minutes long and tickets are only £7. There's a hell of a lot packed into the show without it feeling rushed.
Go see it!
