Notting Hill Carnival 2013 | Inspiration Arts

On August Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday (25th and 26th August) I was at the Notting Hill Carnival, working with Inspiration Arts. It's my second year in a row and the first time I've been to the carnival on both days.

Notting Hill Carnival is the largest street festival in Europe but in spite of the 1.5 million people attending, Inspiration Arts maintain a family atmosphere on both days.

All of their amazing costumes are made by hand at their workshop in Leyton, East London and this year's theme was Elements: earth, wind, fire and water. We were all safely transported to and from Notting Hill by coach - getting out of Notting Hill in the evening is a nightmare on public transport, but we didn't have that problem. We were also provided with refreshments throughout both days and cordoned off and protected from any potential nutters.

The sound crew ensure that we have the best and the loudest music (I might be slightly biassed on that!)
