On Saturday 6 April in various cities around the world, people of all ages came together to have massive pillow fights on World Pillow Fight Day. I only found out about the London event a few days before, but apparently it's been taking place in Trafalgar Square for the last four years.
There are only two rules: "No hitting anyone with a camera" and "no hitting anyone without a pillow", so I was safe on both counts!
Battle commenced at 3pm and was supposed to last for an hour, but people were still going at it until well after 5pm. Trafalgar Square looked like a Winter Wonderland completely covered in feathers. At 2:30pm Westminster Council workers hosed down the entire square in an attempt to contain the feathers but their cunning plan was thwarted by the warm weather, and the area was completely dry by 3pm.
I discovered that feathers get everywhere - three days on and I'm still finding them ....
