On 28 December 2012, Carly and Paul celebrated their wedding at Stock Brook Country Club in the presence of 100 family and friends. The club is located in a large expanse of land in Billericay, Essex and is designed in the style of the British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens who is most commonly associated with country houses, commercial buildings and monuments.
As this was my first Winter wedding, I was secretly hoping for snow but in the weeks leading up to the big day all we got was rain - lots of rain! So much so, we were unable to venture out onto the rolling fields of green because they were waterlogged.
However, we made good use of the space indoors and the reception room was beautifully decked out by the staff at Stock Brook Country Club, with a ginormous Christmas tree taking pride of place behind the top table.
After the sit-down meal, there was a lot to keep the evening guests entertained - a salsa lesson together with Blackjack and Roulette tables courtesy of Diamond Fun Casinos.
Carly is a Zumba instructor, so the DJ played a number of latin-inspired tracks which the guests responded to with enthusiasm and unsurprisingly "Gangnam Style" was given an airing!
